The refurbishment of the house to make it the home of Beth-Salem would not have been possible without the many angels who were sent to help us make it happen, and we would like to extend our warmest thanks to those who supported us financially, those who helped with the work, the artists and the companies.
It is an old village house, composed of a "ramonetage" (wine estate manager's house) and a farm building that we have completely renovated, with an interior courtyard, all overlooking two parallel streets, the rue Mage and the rue des Caves Basses.
The inner courtyard has been converted into a patio, with two tiled terraces and a small patch of scrubland with a pond and a waterfall. It is home to goldfish and Hermann's turtles.
The farm building incorporates a tower from the village ramparts, built in the fifteenth century, with two loopholes.
The "ramonettage" (on the Mage Street side) has a dining room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom, and gives access to a terrace overlooking the patio. It is independent of the rest of the building (no internal communication between the two), so that it can be used as an holiday cottage to accommodate a family for longer periods.
The whole house has six rooms. Each is dedicated to a continent and decorated with objects from the continent represented. In total, eight people can be comfortably accommodated in addition to the owners. Using the extra beds, this number rises to twelve. The Oceania and Antarctica rooms and the adjoining bathroom provide a small 'suite' ideal for a family, with the option of adding an extra bed or cot.
